Feb 22: Surely Spring is close!

These daffodils on the corner in my neighborhood are, for me, the dependable sign of spring. There are many other groupings around the block, but for some reason these are always in my view when they emerge and they don’t seem to respond to the fad of a warm winter week or get delayed too much by a cold spell. So when I see these sprouting through the otherwise brown mulched landscape, I know it will not be long before I am walking my dog without a jacket on, and I smile. We have emerged.
